Diana Williams is a survivor of domestic violence in which her abuser attempted to end her life. Through an indepth healing process Diana was passionate about healing and how she could help others who had been victimized by abuse. With a firm mission and strong vision, Diana has spent the past 3 years developing survivors into advocates through training, empowerment and hands on experiences with victims. Diana holds a Human Services Degree, Certified in Domestic Violence Advocacy she is a National Victims Advocate, Certified Sexual Assault Advocate, Trauma Informed, Certified Mental Health First Aid and is a member of a National Firearms Technical Assistance Team. Diana is passionate about serving others and its evident in the relationships and partnerships she has cultivated within the Columbus community and surrounding areas.
Our Purple Hands Healing Hub is easily accessible, offers a SAFE space and a variety of resources from clothes, hygiene and services, we want to support Women and those with children effected by dv. Through linkage to housing resources, mental health, counseling, support groups, and educational workshops...victims become empowered survivors! You can begin again.
At Ohio Women Against Domestic Violence, our vision is to create a community where senior citizens are made a priority and where those over the age of 60 can access the resources they need to achieve optimal well-being.
OHWADV will encourage victims to speak up and empower survivors to speak out.
OHWADV believes we can be a VOICE for those suffering in silence. By empowering survivors, we equip them to encourage victims and to advocate for them.
Since 2022, OHWADV has assisted over 750 individuals in our community improve their mental health and well-being through dv support and advocacy. Over 80% of those who contact our organization where African American, Women, with 1-2 children, and resided in prior to abuse or is residing temporarily in 43205, 43211, 43224 and 43219.

OHWADV advocates are members who volunteer to support victims of domestic violence. Advocates are required to complete a vigorous training and development program.
Requirements:
Must engage as a volunteer for 6 months
Certify in Domestic Violence Fundamentals
*Certify in Sexual Assault Advocacy
Complete Tactical Self Defense
Complete First Aid/CPR
* Mental Health First Aid
*Trauma Informed Training/ACES
